’Stoke come out on top in a seven-goal thriller

FORTUNATE fans at Winklebury were once again treated to a high-scoring thriller as Basingstoke triumphed over Swindon Supermarine.
’Stoke top scorer Dan Rowe opened the scoring early as a softly hit shot escaped the grasp of Connor Brann before Paul Strudley made a brilliant save to prevent Levi Irving heading an equaliser shortly afterwards. Mat Liddiard did eventually head the equaliser in first half stoppage time from a left-wing corner but there was time before the break for Rowe to glance home Kai Hobbs’ peach of a cross.
