SOME goalless draws are deadly dull, but this game was considerably better than that with both sides striving to play good football on an energysapping surface.
The first decent effort on goal came in the 22nd minute when Marine’s Sam Turl hit a shot from the edge of the box, but it flashed just past a post.
Both sets of defences were working tremendously hard to limit their opponents’ openings, with Sholing defenders Miller and Flannigan making tremendous blocks when the visitors were under pressure.
