JAK Hickman struck an 89th-minute winner to seal the points for Halesowen in a game that saw four red cards.
His right-footed strike from a late free-kick was the only moment of real quality in a poor match, which promised much but failed to deliver.
Both toiled but lacked any real cutting edge. Royston had a glorious opportunity to take the lead in the first half when a penalty was awarded for a push on Kian Harness. However, the resultant spot-kick was side-footed wide by Andronicus Georgiou.
