LUKE PARDOE’S early first-half strike proved to be the difference in this rather low key affair as a disciplined Dorchester kept Hayes & Yeading at arms length.
There was an early chance for Hayes striker Tommy Wood as his left-footed effort from outside the box struck the base of the far post.
Meanwhile, the first real chance for the away side fell to Ieuan Turner as he rose highest at the back post, but saw his header fly over the bar.
