Northern Premier play-offs round-up

NPL Premier

Macclesfield and Marine will contest the Pitching In Northern Premier League play-off final after both won their semi-final ties on Tuesday night.

Macclesfield overcame fifth placed Worksop Town 3-1 in front of just over 3,000 in their semi-final. Kane Drummond, Alex Curran and Babatunde Owolabi were on target for the Silkmen with Regan Hutchinson netting a consolation for the visitors.

Sol Solomon scored the only goal for Marine in their 1-0 success over Warrington Rylands. It was the Jersey-born forward’s 23rd of the season and his third in three games.

Marine finished third, a point below Macclesfield, and lost both matches against them in the regular season by two goals to one.

The two will meet on Monday May 6 at Macclesfield’s Leasing.com Stadium, KO 3pm. The winners progress to National League North, a division neither side have competed in before.
