THE home side were named team of the month in the Southern League Premier Central before the game, having won both their league fixtures at home before this one.
They started the better side in the first half, and tried to take the game to Barwell, but found their opponent’s defence resolute and hard to break down.
Two angled shots went past the far post of Barwell goalkeeper William Highland, including one from early substitute Alex Prosser, and he had to make a routine save from an Ethan Freemantle header in the box.
