MERTHYR Town left it late to seal this narrow home win against their bottom-of-the-league opponents and extend their unbeaten league run to six games.
Despite a dominant opening spell from the home side, it was the away side who broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when visiting captain Christopher Ovendon headed home from a corner.
The home side pushed for an equaliser, but they had three penalty appeals waved away to the frustration of the home crowd as the visitors continued to mount a determined defensive effort.
