THIS grim encounter was decided by an elementary defensive error but had it finished goalless Stratford would have rightfully complained at being held by a lacklustre Hitchin side.
For over half an hour, creativity was stifled by sure-footed defences and the best effort came from Stratford’s Paul McCone whose fierce shot was just tipped over the bar by Sebastian Stacey.
