GOSPORT BOROUGH blocked out hosts Chertsey Town who failed to record a goal at Alwyns Lane for the first time this term.
Both sides looked likely to score at times, but not so until a 21st minute penalty was awarded for a disputed foul tackle, to be put away by Asher Yearwood from the spot. Gosport should have gone two up by half time when a slip by Chertsey goalkeeper Jack Smith gave an open goal opportunity for Dan Wooden to punish, but the gapping chasm was missed at distance.
