CHERTSEY claimed a valuable three points with victory at the AEI Stadium. Borough made a bright start and thought they had taken the lead within 90 seconds as Asher Yearwood slotted home, but the effort was disallowed as the preceding free-kick was taken too quickly.
They were punished after nine minutes when Chertsey won their own set-piece, and the ball was fired into the bottom corner by Jack Mazzone.
