A HEAVILY depleted Basingstoke side eked out an important narrow win to end a run of four straight defeats at Evesham’s expense thanks to Billy Upton’s late goal.
Chances were at a premium in the first half. Levi Steele had the best of them for Evesham as a cross sneaked through to him at the far post, leaving Simon Grant to come out and save.
At the other end, Alex Harris saved from a scramble at a Basingstoke corner while Scott Armsworth dragged a shot wide of the near post following a long throw.
