IN a game where defences came out on top, both sides lacked punch up front as they struggled to find a route to goal.
In the end, a goal apiece in the second half ensured the result was just about right – Bury’s Jamie Mauge cancelling out Liam Lockett’s earlier effort four minutes from time.
Indeed, it took 21 minutes for the first chance to be created – a ball into the box finding Bury’s Jamie McGrath, but it got stuck under his feet and the defence cleared.
