SUBSTITUTE Jez Abbey scored a second-half winner as Alvechurch added further misery to already relegated Royston.
With their spot for next season already secured, the Church were looking to entertain their fans in their penultimate home tie of the season.
Midfielder Joe Willis tested Town goalkeeper Reuben Rabstein early on, his effort being matched by a good stop.
