THE curtain came down on a low-energy game that could not stop visitors Hungerford Town from the drop, but the only goal of the game was enough for Chertsey Town to retain seventh in the table, just five points outside the play-offs.
The bright sun blotted out any chance of the spotlight falling on key moments, but it was just as well as there were very few of them.
