MARCUS Bowers’ goal midway through the second half was enough for Basildon United to take the points in a close-fought encounter against Tilbury.
Basildon struck after 17 minutes when former Docker Eljay Worrell volleyed home from outside the area in to the net, a superb goal from which to open up the game But Tilbury were back on level terms eight minutes later when a good move in midfield saw Harry Norman play in James Walker to slot home clinically.
Both sides made defensive mistakes, but both keepers had little to do as the game headed...
