HEYBRIDGE took the lead two minutes into the second half when Elliott Ronto sent a half-volley across goal and into the bottom corner from 25 yards.
The lead was doubled on the hour mark when Heybridge outnumbered Canvey down the right wing.
Kreshnic Krasniqi delivered a cross to the back post, where Matthew Price was on hand to head home from close range.
Canvey pulled a goal back when Martin Tuohy directed a header back across goal and in.
