CARSHALTON won a feisty encounter with battling Wingate and Finchley to leap into the play-off spots and keep the North Londoners rooted to the bottom of the table.
Wingate belied their status by bossing the first-half.
Charlie Ruff forced Robins keeper Kleton Perntreou into a fine save within sixty seconds.
And they led on 18 minutes when Chrisitian Forino-Joseph headed home a Johnville Renee cross after a short corner routine.
