Bowden-Brown brought in to aid Ashford United promotion bid

have appointed former finance director Paul Bowden-Brown as their new director of to assist their push for promotion.

The Nuts & Bolts are gunning to reach the Premier and have called upon an experienced figure.

Bowden-Brown, 74, stepped down from his role at Ashford's South East rivals Ramsgate, where he was also company secretary, last month.

Ashford owner Don Crosbie has known the former chairman for many years and jumped at the chance to bring him to the club.

“Paul has been involved on six occasions whereby promotion has been achieved and by maintaining a strict code of spending keeping within ones means and not like so many clubs chase the dream,” he said.

“Ashford United will prove that success can be made without breaking the bank and use all of our knowledge and wisdom to achieve greatness.

“[Manager] Tommy Warrilow almost proved this in his first season back at the club with a reduced budget taking us from mid table in the league to play off finalists runners up after extra time.”
