MANAGER Mark Bentley believes Canvey Island's capture of prolific striker Matt Price has fired out a warning to their Isthmian North rivals.
Price has become the Gulls' first signing ahead of the new season and it's one which has whetted the appetite of supporters.
The forward has arrived from Coggeshall Town. He has previously played for clubs including Horsham, Tooting & Mitcham United, Brentwood Town, East Thurrock United and Heybridge Swifts.
Former Grays Athletic player-manager Bentley is delighted his patience has been rewarded.
He said: “Matt is somebody who I have been after for a couple of years now, so I'm delighted to finally have him on board.
“He is a natural centre-forward who has scored a lot of goals at this level.
“He will be a big asset for us and this signing signals our intent to have a real go at the league title this season.”
