AFC SUDBURY hope they have signed the modern-day Isthmian League equivalent of Dion Dublin or Paul Warhurst – a player equally at home at centre-forward as centre-back.
Jamie Shaw has joined the yellows from Stowmarket Town.
The experienced player lifted the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division with Coggeshall Town in 2017-18 and is a third signing for the Sudbury management team of Rick Andrews and Angelo Harrop.
Shaw knows recently appointed joint manager Andrews well having played under him at Stowmarket Town. After signing for him last summer though he was released from the Old Gold & Blacks in December, following Andrews' resignation. The 30-year-old played nine times for the Greens Meadow club.
