■A BATTLING local derby finished level at the Simarco Stadium.
Rob Swaine limped off in the 15th minute in an early blow to the visitors, and Witham took the lead seconds later when Suaibo Balde finished well for his third goal in successive games.
Both sides worked hard and showed attacking endeavour but there were few real chances in the first half.
Joshua Pollard and Tariq Issa impressed for the visitors as the game opened up. Ahmed Mohammed, Callum Matthews were solid in midfield for Witham.
