■ NORTHWOOD came down to earth with a bump after last week’s win at Chipstead as Ashford Town took the points in Woods’ new management team’s first home game.
Ashford were two goals to the good after 25 minutes after poor defending allowed Aaron McLeish and Conner Cullen to get their names on the scoresheet.
Woods spurned a wonderful opportunity to get back in the game as Sydney Ibie saw his penalty saved by Paul Mc- Carthy after the former had been hauled down.
