■ GRINSTEAD took the lead after 35 minutes when Liam Montague fired home with the help of a deflection.
Omar Folkes, who caused the Whitstable defence problems all game, was released on the left wing after 44 minutes and his perfect cross was swept in by Szymon Kowalczyk to deservedly extend the visitors’ lead.
Whitstable didn’t really threaten until the 58th minute when a long ball from Samuel Itauma was missed by everyone and somehow found its way past Dan Smith.
