■ HASHTAG defeated what ended up being a nineman Maldon & Tiptree, with the Tags holding on after Sam Bantick’s 15th-minute penalty.
The penalty proved costly in more than one way, too, with Lordon Akolbire sent off for his handball on the line, before Bantick confirmed the further punishment.
Things became worse in the 37th minute when the referee reached for his back pocket once more. This time, it was Shad Ngand who received his marching orders after two yellow cards in quick succession.
