■ BARKING were unable to capitalise on their cup success as they fell to title challengers Aveley FC.
Aveley dominated much of the first half and took the lead after 30 minutes when Kenny Aileru cut in from the left wing and unleashed a thunderbolt into the top right corner.
Barking started the second half strongly but Aveley soon doubled their lead. A dink over the top found Jon Benton and even though his volley wasn’t the most powerful it wrongfooted keeper James Shaw.
