■ GRAYS came out on top in a close encounter thanks to Aron Gordon’s second-half winner.
It keeps Grays firmly in the plays-off places and extended their unbeaten run to eight games and a fourth consecutive clean sheet.
New signing Callum Leahy had Grays’ first opportunity, putting his header over from close range. At the other end Alex Stephenson’s header suffered a similar fate.
Grays held sway after the break with Gordon menacing but, despite a number of chances, it stayed level.
