■CANVEY Island romped to a convincing home win over Basildon United.
They took the lead after 25 minutes when Evans Kouassi slid the ball into the feet of Bradley Sach who held off defender Valckx Fernandes and shot across goal into the bottom corner.
It was 2-0 six minutes before half-time, with Kouassi the provider again. This time he got to the touchline on the left, pulling the ball back to the penalty spot for Odei Martin Sorondo to smash past Emmanuel Olajide.
