■ TWO sides at opposite ends of the table fought out a close game. Lancing keeper Alieu Secka was called into action as early as the third minute with a point blank save Lancing came close when Modou Jammeh got on the end of a delicate lob over the Ashford defence, but his shot was too tame to trouble Jordan Carey.
Lancing fell behind after 33 minutes when Jack Richards hit the ball downwards and it rebounded high, dropping behind Secka.
