■ ROVERS ended their first Isthmian season with a hard-fought victory.
Ashford had two early freekicks, both taken by Wayne Ridgley, bringing a routine save and then a stunning tip over by Filip Chalupniczak.
For Rovers, a spell of pressure saw Christoph Aziamale have a header cleared off the line, before Perri Iandolo and Ryan Dacres-Smith fired wide.
Daniel Brown thought he had opened the scoring on the hour, but was ruled out offside and Tony Halsey was denied.
