MARLOW netted early in the second half to settle a bad-tempered encounter with ten-man hosts Tooting & Mitcham.
After an even opening 25 minutes, a seemingly 50-50 challenge in the middle of the park was penalised by referee Elliot Spencer with a red card for the home side’s Leevi Bassett.
The decision was greeted with bewilderment on and off the pitch.
The match threatened to spill over on several occasions after that as Spencer appeared to lose a grip on proceedings.
