ROVERS started brightly with Shawn Lyle and Matt Surmon heading chances over the Walton bar.
Rovers took the lead when Liam Allen pulled down Lyle and the Rovers man fired home the spot-kick.
Walton upped the pressure, and both Finley Lovatt and Arden Ukaj were denied by Rovers keeper Endurance Johnson.
