THE home side’s man- nagement were happy enough going in at the interval on level terms, but even more delighted at the end with the narrowest of victories.
The visitors took the initiative in the first half and again early in the second half but could not break down Chertsey’s resolute defence.
The encounter always looked a one-goal game, but with Uxbridge looking the more likely winners.
However, Town took the points after 68 minutes with a headed Scott Day goal
following a free-kick on the right by full-back Rowan Smith.
