A HARD-fought encounter of few clear-cut chances was decided by a rare strike midway through the first half by Grays fullback Courtney Homans.
Both sides looked to get the ball wide. For Grays, Aron Gordon ran the line, with Cruise Nyadzayo doing likewise for the visitors.
The latter’s shot across the box in the 20th minute was as close as Bury came all afternoon.
But soon after, Grays worked the ball well to Sam Bantick in the box and he found Homans who finished smartly.
