■ ASHFORD snatched a late victory against Hythe at the Homelands Stadium as the battle for a play-off spot heats up.
As usual, when it comes to this fixture, another scrappy affair ensued in front of a 446-strong crowd.
The game was set up as a proper six-pointer and it was the Nuts & Bolts who deservedly came out on top. High-flying tackles, big saves, repeated shots off the woodwork, a sending off and a late winner via the ever-reliable Gary Lockyer, who bundled home an Ashford corner routine in the 76th minute – the game had it all!
