■ WITH Chertsey and Merstham at opposite ends of the table, this was always going to be an exciting affair.
Chertsey started brighter with Merstham struggling to get a foot in.
The away side grew into the game deep into the first half, but neither side capitalised on their dominant spells.
The second half saw Merstham start fastest, putting the home side under pressure.
Chertsey had their chances as well and were unlucky not to score.
