CHIPSTEAD players came off the pitch amid claims one of their men had been racially abused in a game against promotion hopefuls that had to be abandoned.
The fixture, in which Chips had to better the result of third-bottom Binfield to stay in the South Central division, was abandoned at halftime. Chipstead boss Dean Sammut tweeted: “Proud of decision players and staff made today not to return to the pitch after one of our players was needlessly & mindlessly racially abused.”
