■ KHALID Simmo’s dramatic penalty in the eighth minute of stoppage time earned Ascot a deserved point against Leatherhead.
The visitors bossed the early possession, but Ascot created the better chances as Taylor Morgan and Anas Igozouln both went close.
However, Leatherhead took a 23rd minute lead when Matt Everitt headed home a rebound from Mark Scott’s earlier save.
Morgan threatened twice more before the break, but to no avail as The Tanners hung on.
