■AMINE Sassi was the late hero as Maldon and Tiptree dented Witham Town’s faint hopes of reaching the play-offs.
Sassi struck the winner 12 minutes from time with his second goal in successive games as the Essex side took all three points at The Simarco Stadium.
Former Norwich City frontman Gary Hooper was among the Jammers’ starting XI as the visitors followed up their 5-0drubbing of Basildon United.
