■DEFEAT for Newmarket against local rivals Cambridge leaves the Jockey’s looking cautiously behind them in the relegation battle.
Samrai Gebra struck for the hosts in the 13th minute. He received the ball on the edge of the area before turning and slotting home into the bottom corner.
Jack Thompson doubled the lead in the 33rd minute with his own placed strike inside the area.
Newmarket featured a lot more in the second half and forced several strong saves from James Philp including a fine stop to keep Josh Lee at bay.
