LEWES dropped further back from the play-off pack when Brightlingsea produced a more solid display and nearly won the game themselves.
Brightlingsea’s Billy Hunt struck the post early on following an Aaron Condon strike.
Regent restricted Lewes to playing on the break but the visitors still brought two fantastic saves from Regent keeper James Bradbrook.
Both keepers coped admirably with the wind as neither team could muster sufficient composure in front of goal.
