MERSTHAM consigned struggling Wingate & Finchley to the bottom five with an outstanding away display in North London.
Two goals in each half gave the visitors a thoroughly deserved victory as Wingate struggled to make an impression for most of the match.
The Moatsiders were ahead within seven minutes when Omar Folkes got his head to a well-delievered free-kick and flicked the ball home An unmarked Anthony Mendy could have levelled matters later in the half but his header was well held by Merstham’s shot stopper Matte Pierson.
