Match Preview: Lewes v Chatham Town (Saturday, 3pm)

Chatham Town travel to Lewes on Saturday in the Isthmian Premier Division.

The visitors come into the game on the back of a win in their last match, having beaten Margate 2-1 at home.

Lewes also won their last match, 3-1 against Hastings United.

With 61 goals in 30 games so far this season, Chatham are the league’s second-highest scorers with 2.0 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 43 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

Lewes are also above average scorers, with 1.7 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.6. They have also conceded 1.7 goals per game.

Town are second in the table after 30 games, of which they have won 18 and drawn four, earning 58 points.

The hosts are eight places behind the away team in 10th, with 13 wins and five draws putting them on 44 points.

Lewes are in disappointing form in the Isthmian Premier Division, with two wins and four losses from their last six games.

With four wins and two losses over that period, Chatham’s form is much better – they have taken 12 points from 18, compared to Lewes’s six.
