Match Preview: Concord Rangers v AFC Hornchurch (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Concord Rangers host AFC Hornchurch in Tuesday’s late match at Thames Road looking to bounce back from defeat last time out in the Isthmian Premier Division.

The Beach Boys, who sit 20th in the league after 25 games, fell to a 1-2 home defeat to Billericay Town on February 20.

They face a Hornchurch side who picked up a win in their last match, a 3-0 victory against Haringey Borough, and who sit first in the table.

With 71 goals in 29 games so far this season, Hornchurch are the league’s highest scorers with 2.4 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 23 goals at a rate of 0.8 per game.

Concord, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.0 goal per game, compared to a league average of 1.6. They have conceded 1.8 goals per game.

Rangers are in disappointing form in the Isthmian Premier Division, with one win and three draws from their last six games.

With five wins and a draw over that period, the away team’s form is much better – they have taken 16 points from 18, compared to the Beach Boys’ six.
