Match Preview: Hastings United v Enfield Town (Saturday, 3pm)

Enfield Town face a challenge to maintain their high-scoring form away against a tight Hastings United defence on Saturday.

With 75 goals in 38 games, Enfield are the fourth-highest scorers in the Isthmian Premier Division ahead of the 3pm kick-off at the Pilot Field.

They face a Hastings side who have scored 65 in 37 matches, but conceded only 48 goals, putting them joint-third among the league’s tightest defences – only AFC Hornchurch and Horsham have conceded fewer goals.

Hastings are in mixed form in the Isthmian Premier Division, with three wins and a draw from their last six games.

With five wins and a draw over that period, Enfield’s form is much better – they have taken 16 points from 18, compared to United’s 10.

Town are fourth in the table after 38 games, of which they have won 20 and drawn 10, earning 70 points.

The home side are four places behind the visitors in eighth, with 17 wins and eight draws putting them on 59 points.

In the last three years, Hastings and Enfield have played each other on three occasions. Enfield won two of them and they drew once.

Their last meeting was on November 18, when Enfield won 3-1 at home.

Hastings’s last match was on April 13, a 1-0 loss against Whitehawk.

Enfield beat Potters Bar Town 3-1 last time out, also on April 13.
