Grantham began the game the brighter with Danny Meadows going close but it was Workington who took the lead.
On 14 minutes James Earl lost his marker to head home.
Workington continued to push forward, went close and forced a number of corners but couldn’t score.
Grantham came more into the game with Jordan Hempenstall going close.
The game was halted on 37 minutes and the players taken off due to a lightning storm.
