NIC EVANGELINOS earned Ashton a point with an equaliser nine minutes from time after Lee Shaw’s effort looked like being enough to hand all three to Grantham.
Shaw posed a threat throughout for the home side and had the ball in the net after five minutes but it was ruled out.
Ashton came more into the game and only a last ditch challenge from Curtis Burrows halted Liam Tomsett and a great save from Kieran Preston at the expense of a corner prevented Ashton taking the lead.
