Liam Tongue’s early speculative effort for the Mariners was wellheld by James Wren, whilst at the other end Joey Butlin’s header from a free-kick dropped onto the roof of Martin Fearon’s net.
Recent Marine signing Josh Amis was denied a debut goal by a last-ditch block from a Town defender, before Peter Wylie had to be alert to hook the ball clear following a Pitmen set-piece.
