Ashton are forced to dig deep

ASHTON came from behind to maintain their push for a play-off place by beating fellow contenders Witton.
The home side were forced to dig deep as they saw off a determined and disciplined Witton Albion in a well contested and entertaining fixture.
Having played less than 48 hours previously the hosts got off to a slow start as James Foley put a free-kick into the sidenetting for Albion.
And Ashton hit back with Liam Tomsett volleying Sam Sheridan’s free-kick wide of the goal.
