A GOAL fit to win any game condemned Basford United to an opening day defeat away at Hyde United in the opening round of games in the Evo-Stik Premier division.
Chib Chilaka was the hero for Hyde planting home a fine header after a sublime cross from Tom Pratt on 51 minutes.
Apart from the goal, clear cut chances were at a premium all day as both sides played out a tight but entertaining affair with defences on top.
