GRANTHAM earned their first league win since September 29 to stop their plunge down the table. But it left Workington in deep trouble.
Although the Cumbrians dominated the first half hour they were unable to break through and twice the Gingerbreads keeper Jordan Wright went full length to keep out efforts from Scott Allerton and Conor Tinnion.
It was against the run of play when Grantham broke on 32 minutes and Danny Durkin provided a perfect low cross for Max Watters to steal in.
